The bottle is straight-up Oktoberfest. Light blue and white checkers behind a beer wench riding a giant Clydesdale. The coloring is a very clear amber underneath a thin white head. The aromas are malty sweet and a bit smokey with a caramelized undertone. Very inviting. The flavors mimic the aromas with a solid malt base and caramelized malty accent. Extremely smooth and easily drinkable.
Overall - A fantastic example of the Oktoberfest style. This is one that you can drink a number of liters of. And thats the point! If an Oktoberfest is too big, its not within the style. You want an Amber Marzen to be one that can be consumed throughout the day without feeling like you want to fall face-first into a gutter. Hacker Pschorr's Original Oktoberfest hits the spot on this wonderful college football day (GO ISU!). Grab a 12 pack for your next tailgate, you wont regret it.
