Hokay, so. Beer has been around for many thousands of years. Fortunately for all of us, the earlier civilizations got lucky and accidently fermented their sugar-water into something kind of resembling beer. After a while, smart people who liked this delicious concoction began to study it, and found out what was actually taking place in the process: we trick grains into thinking they're going to get to start growing, steal their sugars, feed the sugars to the magical yeast, and let the yeast poop alcohol into the beer to make it delicious. Thanks to the brits (seriously, Thank You), the hops were brought into the mix as well to help preserve these barrels of yeast-poop ale on long voyages. And VWALA! We have beer!
Beer is a beautiful thing. I enjoy drinking it, talking about it, brewing it, reading about it, and even going to the local brew-shop and just staring at it. Craft brewing has become an art, with artists around the globe perfecting and fine-tuning their abilities with unique ingredients and innovative brewing processes. I'm one of the lucky ones that gets to appreciate, enjoy, and humbly critique their work. That is what I have been doing with Steve for the last couple years, and it is our feedback and experience as we try each new brew that we plan on sharing with you.
I challenge you to try the beers that we review and comment on them with your feedback as well - the more interactive, the more fun! If we post negative comments on a brew and you disagree with us, call it out. Unlike some people *cough*obama*, we can handle it!
I accept your challenge... and look forward to suggestions of what to get from the terrorist shot when I'm snowed in on a fridged december evening.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad start. My expectations are very high. I'm sure you won't disappoint me :D
