This blog is about beer, craft beer to be exact. My good friend and fellow home brewer Matt Dunsmore aka Dunz, Dingle, and/or Dur (along with a plethora of other nicknames) will be posting reviews of local, domestic, and international craft brew that we drink on a weekly... who are we kidding... daily basis. We don't claim to be experts in noticing the nuances of the "subtle cherry undertones" of an overly aged scotch style ale. What we do claim to be experts in is drinking delicious beer. We, for the most part, know a good beer when we taste one. And we are not afraid to try any style, brand or vintage of beer that we can get our hands on. In fact, the more unique or out of style the beer is the better! But we cant resist a good ol' fashioned IPA either.,, God bless American innovation (even though in this case we technically stole a British idea and just made it super awesome... but thats besides the point).
We plan to give you candid reviews of every beer we taste from here on out. Within those reviews you will find pictures, descriptions and tasting notes of the beer. Feel free to argue with us if you don't feel as though we have done one of your favorite beers justice. Or if we rated a beer super delish and you think it tastes like monkey piss then let us know that too! Like we said, we just like to drink good beer and we want to make sure that we pass along as much information as we can to anyone who will listen.
We think the craft beer scene is just as complex as those people who claim to be wine snobs. Beer isnt just your 0.9 abv Michelob Ultra 0.34 Calorie beer made from corn and sandstone sediment. Its also a 11.4 abv, dark as the blackest black, punch you in the balls Imperial Stout made by a microbrewery that nobody has ever heard of. The latter is the beer we are going to tell you about. And you are going to like it damnet!
Woo hoo! I'm pumped.
