Tonight I'm drinking Summit's Pilsener, which registers 4.8%ABV, 25 IBU, and uses Vanguard and Saaz hops. I'll be pouring into my pilsener glass for the first time since my foam plateau incident a few months ago. This beer is a clear, effervescent golden color with a fluffy white inch of foam. Aroma is a mild lemongrass, with some herbal notes behind it. Also a decent amount of buttered bread in there. The flavor opens with lemons and some grassy hops. Then comes a long and steady wave of light bready malts, almost like a piece of wonder bread with lemon zest sprayed on top. The finish is clean and dry, quite refreshing. The mouthfeel is generally light/crisp and the heavy carbonation suits the beer well.

Summit - Pilsener Bohemian Style
A couple weeks ago, Steve made the fantastic point that we haven't been covering enough Summit beers thus far. Summit is local, readily available, and we certainly take it for granted even though they have some great brews in their line-up. So I went out and picked up a Summit sampler pack. I apologize if there are an abundance of Summit reviews in a row over the next couple weeks, you've been warned.
Overall Rating: (3.5 out of 6.0) This was a light and easy-drinkin' beer that would fit well in the cooler on a hot summer day. In fact, I plan on bringing a couple of these out on the boat this summer on Lake Minnetonka.
